In addition to the familiar smoke (ionisation and

optical) and heat detectors, the Discovery range

features a multisensor detector. This incorporates

an optical smoke sensor and a heat sensor which

can operate independently or together, with

the analogue value being derived by means of

sophisticated algorithms. The multisensor detector

matches the strengths of both ionisation and

optical detectors, and can, in most installations

be used instead of an ionisation detector.
